Saturday oh saturday
After the wonderful dinner and movie night last night, I had a nasty-old bout of insomnia, so I'm pretty much totalled right now. So... I made it an early morning, hit the download button on the latest episode of Stargate Universe, and went to get my groceries.
On the way back I ran into this kid that lives in my building, I think he has a slight mental handicap, judging from the way he spoke to me. He was all nervous and terrified, asking in hushed tones if i knew how to "illegally download movies and things". He cast a furtive look around as if he was worried the police were going to jump out and grab him
I explained a few things about the ins and outs of downloading to him, and he asked if I could teach him. So now I'm writing him a little word document, getting him a demonoid.com account and burning some video codecs and utorrent to disc for him.
Apparently he works part-time in a greenhouse and he said he'd get me some fresh fruits and veggies in exchange. Hey, sounds like a deal to me! Its actually pretty hard to write up a guide for this sort of thing for someone who has a very very limited understanding of computers. I consider this an interesting challenge.
I think I'll take a break now and watch my SG:U.
P.S. Yes, I am an unrepentant fan of Dr. Nicholas Rush. He is the bestest jerk I've seen in a long long time.
A new beginning!
It's been a long time since I last did something with machine9.net. It used to be my hopeful pseudo-artist portfolio, a venue of employment I have since cast aside. Now, it's just going to be my blog. A place to dump my brain, my photos and experiences and things I have shared with friends. (I haven't finished my custom theme yet, sadly)
I am arguably beginning to do better than I have ever done before, the valley was deep and the climb now is still uphill, but there is a dawn brewing over them mountains over yonder, and I intend to climb them all.
I finished cleaning the house just now, its probably cleaner now than it has been in a long long time, and after this post, I'm going to start making some preparations for dinner, afterall, I have a guest tonight!
After dinner I will educate her on why Fight Club is not a movie I can let her go around without having seen!
Dear Hypothetical God, please add 1 gold star to my report card for this, as it is obviously a saintly act of kindness.
