The Battle of Naka

“Helicity ran back and forth between various stations in the Ship hangar of the CBD Station in Ami at a frantic pace, spurred on by her friend Lakasha’s teasing she was now EVEN MORE keen on prowling around space with the rest of the pack.

The Python Cartel had grown a lot over the past few months, many new faces she had not quite comitted to memory yet were on display on the tactical overview. Helicity wondered if the nighttime prowl would bring excitement… little did she know…”

So last night was roam night, under the command of our favorite FC Andrea Skye we took a pretty beefy gang of battlecruisers out on the hunt.  Things started fairly quietly, we chased a pair of battlecruisers for a few jumps, Golden Helmet in his rapier hot on their heels, but they eludes us by fleeing back to highsec where they belonged.

Next up Jaxxon piped up over the comms that he was joining the fleet, but was being chased by yet another small group of Battlecruiser class ships. We told him to try and keep them busy and interested and turned out ships about to go assist him. Unfortunately, the spike in activity in the local channel did not go unnoticed by this group, and they too fled to the safety of High Security space after giving us the run around the system’s plentiful belts and planetoids.

Where the fuck are the breaks!?

Where the fuck are the brakes!?

By this point we were getting pretty thirsty for blood, an Innocent Bystander ™ in the form of an Anathema paid for it’s curiosity with a face full of shells and lasers as it uncloaked too close to myself and Inka. Skye yelled at us for incurring a GCC, but he was mollified by the discovery of an intact Cover Ops cloaking device in the wreckage.

Having had our fill of small groups running in terror at the sight of our larger gang we decided to go see if our would-be-archenemies-if-they-had-a-pair Chains of Chaos alliance could be tricked into coming out to play in force. Our amazing Necio MARK9000 scoutbot and Golden Helmet began poking around their home system while we held on the gate…

This is not a high-tech hula hoop.

Luck again did not favor us, as a returning  Chains of Chaos (abbreviated as CoC from now on) scout landed on our gang from behind us in a frigate, giving away our position. Our own scouts reported a large gang of battleships, battlecruisers and stealthbomber was heading our way!

Unwilling at first to engage such a large force in our current position Skye ordered us to abandon the gate and keep moving. Two systems later we noticed they were still hot on our heels, but their gang had come somewhat strung out. Performing some math which I do not understand, and factoring in CoCs gross incompetence Skye piped up over comms and told us we would fight them at the next gate.

We deployed at our optimal ranges, drones buzzing around our vessels and we waited. Their scout appeared first, but immediately after more gate flashes lit up the blackness of space.

We had them.

What followed after was a lengthy and violent slugfest which I can’t truthfully relate in detail, I was rather preoccupied firing long range ammo at skirmishing CoC vessels and avoiding the scything beams of an Armageddon that was completely obsessed with taking me down, but failed to do so. I’m glad I fit that Invulnerability field this morning…

The results speak for themselves, the CoC battleship gang withered under the fire of our smaller sized vessels, despite having the gate-sentries assisting them.

After the carnage had ended we spent some time gloating and looting the field, inspecting the wrecks of the terribly fit CoC vessels yielded a small amount of usable items, though we were saddnened that the Domination Warp Scrambler that had previously been fitted to one of their Dominixes had not survived the explosion.
