“Hulkageddon is dead”
“There’s no way it’ll happen again”
“It’s old and stale and it’ll never be a success”
Oh ye of little faith! All these things (along with the usual whines) can be read on the EVE-O forums right now.
And all of them are wrong.
We’re now one week into the fifth incarnation of Hulkageddon and the massacre outstrips previous editions of the event already. Over three thousand fools have been forcibly removed from the asteroid belts of New Eden and the natural beauty of our treasured space rocks can continue a bit longer, while 640 billion isk has been forever destroyed!
Naturally the critics are foaming at the mouth with barely contained miner-rage, harping at the unfairness of it all.
Particularly amusing to me was this guy with post number 4
He equates suicide ganking with risk averse, which amuses me because it’s exactly the opposite; the risk and outcome are assured. You WILL lose your ship to CONCORD, the risk lies in not succeeding before that occurs. That is how the game is played.
Hulkageddon V is a smashing success already, and it looks like we are well on the way to ending up with over a trillion isk in damages before the month is done. That is a vast amount of isk removed from the system by my measure (though it pales in comparison to the overall economy).
The only thing that is missing now, is more forum whining. But that usually only starts when HAG reaches the news sites and the oblivious players realize exactly how many bears are being popped. In the mean time, this thread has been entertaining many of us for days now.
I love this game.
