So, as noted below, only minutes after reactivating my capsule systems, I was party to the annihilation of a terrible and Bad ™ Chimera.
I went off for a bit to sort out some stuff and reconvened with my Shadow Cartel brethren for the sunday roam.
We had our eyes set on a POCO fight, but the whole thing turned rather suspect and we were in a poor position to engage, so we decided to back off and set an ambush a bit further away.
It worked, we engaged some of Snuffbox’ allies’ logistics and small fry ships on a gate and blew several of them to hell. Even though the sacrilege is really a rather crummy ship, I latched onto one of the enemy basilisks and pounded a satisfying amount of missiles into it’s hapless form.
Unfortunately for us Snuff’s main force, comprising of 14 macharials and assorted support and logi landed at optimal from us, too far to reach for our Armor HACs. Two of our demos’ were one-shot before we could succesfully pass through the gate.
We hatched a bold plan and set it in motion, we travelled with deliberate slowness down the pipeline, to see if snuff would follow. They did, and we tricked them at the next jump, the warp to the next gate was some 75AU, sufficient distance for us to burn out from the gate to the predicted landing area of the enemy fleet.
They landed right on our noses.
The machs immediately started burning off in an attempt to escape, we dropped our heavy Moros support squad in immediately to benefit from their impressive range. Several ships were tackled (though unfortunately many managed to escape). The disorganized group before us started fleeing piecemeal when we took down their FC’s macharial. We proceeded to kill two more and then set about extinguishing the remaining small fry and logi locked down by our tackle.
